At all of our homes we offer a variety of facilities from visiting professional and non professionals. These facilities support day to day life and offer an additional required service.

Hairdresser

We have a visiting hairdresser on a regular basis to see our residents, offering services from trims, blow dry, perms to colours.

Beautician

We strive to bring in a little happiness and & feel good to those who have had the benefit of a longer life experience and deserve that little extra pampering and care. Our in-house wellbeing co-ordinator or visiting beautician offer manicures & hand massages. Other beauty treatments can be sourced upon request.

FOOTCARE SERVICES

Podiatrists play an important role in maintaining the mobility of many elderly and disabled people, and others. This is achieved through the ongoing monitoring of foot health, in particular of those with circulation problems and diabetes. If our residents require more than a toe nail trim, they can be referred to the visiting professionals.

Library Services

Working with local councils, we can provide:

  • Large print books – includes a wide range of fiction including family sagas, thrillers, romances and
westerns and non-fiction such as biographies and travel
  • Standard print books – whole range of fiction and non-fiction including craft, cookery and gardening
  • Audiobooks (CD and cassette)
  • Quick reads
  • Dementia friendly newspaper
  • Newspapers

Physiotherapy & speech therapy

The goal of therapy is to improve function and strength so that you are able to obtain a level of independence. With older patients, physical therapists can provide exercises to strengthen muscles and improve or maintain their ability to get out of bed, a chair, to walk with or without assistance and to help prevent falls. Speech therapists deal with a person’s ability to communicate and swallow. Speech therapy can help someone who is having difficulty swallowing or eating, or who has language or cognitive-linguistic problems. Following a referral, we can support with these needs.

SERVICES TO MEET ALL SENSES

Aromatherapy is the use of oils extracted from bushes, flowers, plants and herbs, to help relieve anxiety and some types of pain. The oils from these plants, known as essential oils, release fragrant aromas and have many uses. Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary health therapy that can be effective in promoting deep relaxation and wellbeing and can be key in optimising good health and building resilience. Please enquire with the homes manager of availability of this facility within your home.
